What is a walk behind road roller?
The hand-held road roller is a small, portable compaction machinery that is operated by the operator manually. It has a compact structure and is flexible to operate, suitable for narrow sites and small-scale compaction tasks. It comes in single/double wheel, static/vibrating, fuel/electric models. It is mainly used for municipal repairs, trench backfilling, rural roads/footpaths, and soil, sand, asphalt and other materials compaction at the corners of large roads.

What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

The SVH80 series road rollers are equipped with a powerful power system, advanced drive and control systems, optimized dimensions, and a wide range of applications, which can meet various needs ranging from small to medium-sized construction projects.



1.Power system
This series of models are equipped with three high-quality single-cylinder engines, precisely matching the power requirements of different working scenarios.
The SVH80 is equipped with a Honda GX390 gasoline four-stroke engine with a rotational speed of 3600 rpm, an output power of 9.7 KW, a fuel capacity of 6.5L, featuring powerful and stable performance, capable of handling heavy compaction operations;
The SVH80C is equipped with a Changchai Changfa 186F diesel four-stroke engine with a rotational speed of 3600 rpm, an output power of 6 KW, a fuel capacity of 5.5L, with excellent fuel economy, a durable body, and suitable for conventional earthwork and road compaction;
The SVH80S adopts a GOLDEN FLYING FISH RD90N-1 horizontal water-cooled diesel engine with a rotational speed of 2400 rpm, an output power of 5.88 KW, a fuel capacity of 10L, with an effective water-cooling design for temperature control, capable of supporting long-term continuous operation, and with stable and reliable performance.
All models in this series are equipped with 12V electrical equipment, ensuring stable startup and operation status;
The hydraulic oil capacity is uniformly 28L, eliminating the need for frequent replenishment, effectively improving operational efficiency.

2.Drive & Control System
The SVH80 series adopts a variable piston pump stepless speed control dual-wheel drive mode. The walking speed can be flexibly adjusted within the range of 0 - 6 kilometers per hour. It can precisely match the operation speed according to the compacted materials and construction requirements, and is suitable for various scenarios of compaction operations.
The braking system is linked with the drive system. It achieves operation braking through the variable piston pump and adopts a hydraulic steering method. It is equipped with a hydraulic support plate steering system, which enables flexible and precise steering. It can complete small-radius turns in narrow areas, significantly enhancing operational convenience. 
The vibration system is designed with dual rollers driven by hydraulic power, and the amplitude of the entire series is 0.5 MM, with an excitation force of 30 KN.
The vibration frequencies of SVH80 and SVH80S are 65 HZ, while that of SVH80C is 60 HZ. High-frequency vibration can effectively enhance the compaction density, making the compaction of soil, sand, gravel, and asphalt materials more uniform.



The entire machine is equipped with a gravity spray watering system, featuring a 30-liter large water tank that can continuously supply water, effectively preventing the rollers from sticking to the compacted materials, and ensuring the compaction quality and smooth operation.



3.Size
Weight: The operating weight is uniformly 790 kilograms.
Roller size: The width of the roller is 680 mm, the diameter is 355 mm, the axle distance is 650 mm. The machine is compact and has a stable center of gravity. When moving, the compaction surface is uniform and there are no compaction dead zones.
Machine size: The overall width of the machine is 750 mm. When the handrails are laid flat, the overall length is 2500/1800 mm. When the handrails are raised, the overall height is 1140/1710 mm. The structure can be flexibly adjusted to adapt to the height and length restrictions of different working spaces.
Packaging size: 1320×700×1730 mm. It is convenient for transportation and storage, and flexible for transfer.
The theoretical climbing ability of this model is up to 30%. It can easily handle construction scenarios with slopes, such as slopes and steps, and there are no obvious limitations in the working scenarios.

SVH80 features flexible maneuverability and strong compaction performance, and is widely used in various small-scale engineering scenarios:
· In municipal engineering, it can be used for paving of sidewalks, construction of residential roads, backfilling and compaction of underground pipeline trenches, and patching of road potholes;
· In road engineering, it is suitable for compaction of the base layer and surface layer of rural roads and scenic footpaths, and can also assist in large-scale road construction to complete compaction of blind areas such as shoulders and corners;
· In garden infrastructure, it is applicable for soil compaction of courtyard roads and green planting areas to prevent ground subsidence later;
· For thin-layer asphalt paving of factory floors and parking lots, as well as backfilling compaction of small building foundation pits, etc.

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
