What is a walk behind road roller?
The hand-held road roller is a small, portable compaction machinery that is operated by the operator manually. It has a compact structure and is flexible to operate, suitable for narrow sites and small-scale compaction tasks. It comes in single/double wheel, static/vibrating, fuel/electric models. It is mainly used for municipal repairs, trench backfilling, rural roads/footpaths, and soil, sand, asphalt and other materials compaction at the corners of large roads.

What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

The SVH60 series of small road rollers, with their compact body design, powerful performance and flexible operation experience, have become the ideal equipment for municipal, landscaping and road maintenance applications.



1.Power system
The SVH60 is equipped with a Honda GX390 gasoline four-stroke engine, with an output power of 9.7KW and a stable rotational speed of 3600 rpm. It is equipped with a 6.5L fuel tank and offers powerful performance and excellent fuel efficiency, making it suitable for scenarios with high environmental protection requirements and good ventilation in the working environment.
The SVH60C is equipped with a Changchai/KIPOR 186F diesel four-stroke engine with an output power of 6.6KW. It is equipped with a 5.5L fuel tank, which is sufficient for routine compaction operations. The diesel engine characteristics give it an advantage in terms of range.
The SVH60CS is equipped with a Fuzhou Golden Flying Fish RD90N-1 diesel water-cooled engine with an output power of 5.88KW, a 10L fuel tank, and a rotational speed of 2400 rpm. The water-cooling design effectively improves the engine's heat dissipation performance, extending the continuous operation time, and is suitable for long-term and high-intensity construction.
The 12V electrical system and electric start-up method ensure convenient start-up, stable operation, and a unified hydraulic oil tank capacity of 25L, ensuring the efficient operation of the hydraulic system.

2.Drive & Control System
The entire series adopts a variable displacement piston pump variable speed dual-wheel drive system. The power transmission is precise and efficient, enabling stepless speed adjustment from 0 to 5 kilometers per hour. It can meet different requirements for compaction speed and has flexible steering. It can easily adjust the working posture in narrow spaces.
The braking system uses a variable piston pump for braking, with rapid response and smooth braking, effectively ensuring operational safety.
The vibration system is controlled by a mechanical transmission electromagnetic clutch. The front and rear dual-wheel vibration design ensures a stable vibration frequency of 55Hz, a vibration amplitude of 0.5MM, and an excitation force of up to 30KN. The compaction effect is outstanding, and it can easily handle various materials such as soil, sand, and asphalt for compaction operations.



A gravity spray watering system is equipped, with a 40L large-capacity water tank to meet the watering needs for long-term operations, avoiding material adhesion to the drum, and improving the compaction flatness.



3.Size
Overall machine details: The operating weight is 620 kilograms. The full width of the machine body is 720 millimeters. When the arm is upright, the total length is 1240 millimeters and the total height is 1765 millimeters. It can flexibly navigate through narrow sections and indoor areas.
Transport packaging dimensions: 1300*750*1160MM. The size is compact, making it convenient for vehicle transportation and storage.
Working dimensions: The width of the drum is 650 millimeters and the diameter is 380 millimeters. The drum size has been optimized for design, ensuring a sufficient compaction coverage while precisely adhering to the edge of the operation area, reducing compaction dead zones and improving operational efficiency.



4.Application
SVH60 features flexible maneuverability and strong compaction performance, and is widely used in various small-scale engineering scenarios:
· In municipal engineering, it can be used for paving of sidewalks, construction of residential roads, backfilling and compaction of underground pipeline trenches, and patching of road potholes;
· In road engineering, it is suitable for compaction of the base layer and surface layer of rural roads and scenic footpaths, and can also assist in large-scale road construction to complete compaction of blind areas such as shoulders and corners;
· In garden infrastructure, it is applicable for soil compaction of courtyard roads and green planting areas to prevent ground subsidence later;
· For thin-layer asphalt paving of factory floors and parking lots, as well as backfilling compaction of small building foundation pits, etc.

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
