What is a double drum road roller?
The double-steel-wheel roller has two rollers at the front and rear. Some models support synchronous vibration of the two rollers, which results in better compaction efficiency and uniformity. It is the core equipment for compacting asphalt pavement. The vibration mode is flexible and can be switched according to the types of materials such as soil, sand and gravel, and is suitable for each stage of initial compaction, re-compaction and final compaction.

What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

1.Power system
The power configuration offers a variety of options while ensuring stable output. All adopt a diesel inline water-cooled four-stroke design. The 3-cylinder structure effectively balances power and fuel economy:
The Changchai ZN390B has an output power of 28.5KW and a rotational speed of 2600 rpm, providing strong power.
The Yanmar 3TNV88 has an output power of 28.1KW and a high rotational speed of 3200 rpm, ensuring continuous power supply.
The Kubota V1505 has an output power of 26.1KW and a rotational speed of 3000 rpm, adapting to long-term operations with balanced performance.
The equipment is equipped with a 12V electrical system. The hydraulic oil and fuel capacity are both 42L, and a 180L large-capacity water tank is combined with an intermittent pressure spray system, effectively suppressing dust during operation and ensuring the equipment can run continuously for a long time.

2.Drive & Control System
Drive system: It adopts a variable piston pump for stepless speed control and connects two-wheel drive motors in parallel. The power transmission is efficient and smooth. The walking speed can be adjusted steplessly within the range of 0 - 10 km/h, achieving both efficient operation and precise compaction. 
The steering system adopts a hydraulic cylinder hinged steering and swing hinged design. The minimum turning radius is only 2750mm (4130mm in some conditions). Even in narrow areas or when operating in bends, it can be flexibly controlled. 
The theoretical climbing capacity of the equipment reaches 30% - 40%, enabling it to easily handle compaction operations in complex terrains such as slopes and ramps. 



Vibration System: It adopts a design with two vibration wheels at the front and rear, driven by a hydraulic motor. The vibration frequency reaches 60Hz, the amplitude is 0.5mm, and the excitation force can reach 50kN each. The compaction depth and effect are outstanding, and it can easily meet the compaction requirements of different materials.



3.Size
Weight: The operating weight is 3150kg. The static line load is 135/120n/cm. The compaction stability is excellent.
Size: The working width reaches 1370mm, the wheelbase is 1720mm, the overall length is between 2480mm and 2580mm, the height can be adjusted to 2000mm - 2670mm. The compact size design is convenient for operation in narrow areas, reduces transportation difficulty, meets the entry requirements of different construction sites, and realizes the dual advantages of "efficient operation + flexible transportation". 
Roller size: Equipped with a vibrating drum 1200mm wide and 720mm in diameter. The single-time compaction area is large, significantly improving the operation efficiency.

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
·  Before hoisting, jacking up the equipment or performing maintenance work, be sure to fasten the articulated steering connection in place with a locking rod.
