What is a remote-controlled road roller?
A remote-controlled road roller is a compaction machine operated via a wireless remote control terminal, eliminating the need for on-board operation. It enables remote control of travel, steering, vibration and other working movements, and is suitable for narrow, high-risk construction sites or areas inaccessible to personnel.
What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

The STRC18 small road roller combines high efficiency with flexible operation. With its excellent design and reliable configuration, it has become the preferred equipment for small and medium-sized construction projects.



1.Power system
It is equipped with a Yanmar 3TNV80F-SDSA 4-stroke water-cooled diesel engine (3-cylinder) as the core configuration, delivering a stable, powerful and long-lasting power output with an output power of 17.8 kW and a rotational speed of 3000 rpm. The fuel consumption rate is as low as 282 g/kWh, greatly reducing operation and maintenance costs. It is matched with a 12V electrical system and a 3.4L oil capacity to ensure stable and reliable operation of the equipment.

2.Drive & Control System
The equipment adopts a two-wheel parallel drive mode. The remote control system enables functions including remote engine start/stop, travel and steering control, vibration intensity adjustment (high and low), and automatic parking when the engine is turned off. It supports two-speed adjustment: a low speed of 1.25 km/h and a high speed of 2.5 km/h, with a 45% climbing capacity to easily tackle complex terrains. An articulated hydraulic cylinder steering system is adopted, featuring a steering angle of 30° and a minimum inner turning radius of only 1470 mm, ensuring flexible operation in narrow spaces. The hydraulic parking brake system provides reliable protection for construction safety.



The machine’s core strength is its front & rear dual vibrating drums, hydraulically driven with a 42 Hz vibration frequency. Amplitude is adjustable between 0.7 mm (low) and 1.4 mm (high), delivering exciting forces of 15×2 KN and 30×2 KN respectively for uniform, high-efficiency compaction. Working width flexibly switches from 560 mm (narrow) to 820 mm (wide), and the 580 mm-diameter vibrating drum (with lugs) features a 1005 mm width to boost operational efficiency even further.



3.Size
It features a compact body structure (1915 mm in length and 1430 mm in height), facilitating easy transportation and storage. With an operating weight of 1850 kg, it achieves a balance between compaction efficiency and ground protection. The 38.5-liter hydraulic oil tank and 25-liter fuel tank can meet the requirements of long-time continuous operation.



4.Application
The STRC-18 features a compact design. As a remote-controlled road roller, it is suitable for construction scenarios where manual operation is inconvenient, space is limited, or high risks and vulnerabilities exist. Its core applicable areas include：
·  Narrow Areas: Municipal lanes, areas beside community corridors, underground garages, pipeline surroundings, subgrade edges, bridge and culvert gaps, and other small construction sites inaccessible to large equipment.；
·  High-Risk Scenarios: Slopes and dykes, foundation pit edges, aerial work platforms, and slippery/soft ground. It eliminates potential safety hazards caused by on-board personnel operation；

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
·  Before hoisting, jacking up the equipment or performing maintenance work, be sure to fasten the articulated steering connection in place with a locking rod.
