What is a walk behind road roller?
The hand-held road roller is a small, portable compaction machinery that is operated by the operator manually. It has a compact structure and is flexible to operate, suitable for narrow sites and small-scale compaction tasks. It comes in single/double wheel, static/vibrating, fuel/electric models. It is mainly used for municipal repairs, trench backfilling, rural roads/footpaths, and soil, sand, asphalt and other materials compaction at the corners of large roads.

What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

The SVH60M and SVH60MC small road rollers are two models specifically designed to meet different power requirements. They offer both gasoline and diesel power options, covering all kinds of working scenarios and providing dual guarantees for construction efficiency and compaction quality.



1.Power system
The SVH60M is equipped with a Honda GX390 gasoline four-stroke engine, featuring a single-cylinder design that delivers a powerful 9.7kW output. The engine maintains a stable rotational speed of 3600 rpm. The fuel tank capacity is 5.9L, providing abundant power output and excellent fuel efficiency. It is suitable for scenarios where high power response speed is required and the working environment has lower restrictions on exhaust emissions.
The SVH60MC is equipped with a Changchai 186F diesel four-stroke engine, featuring a single-cylinder output of 6.6kW. The rotational speed remains stable at 3600 rpm. The fuel tank capacity is 5.5L. The diesel power has stronger range and load adaptability, making it suitable for long-term high-intensity operations and remote working conditions without gasoline refueling. 
Both models support dual modes of manual pull-back recoil start and electric start, ensuring convenient and reliable startup, and meeting the requirements for quick boot-up in various environments. 
The power system is equipped with a reasonable fuel, lubrication and hydraulic reserve capacity. The hydraulic oil tank has a capacity of 18L, which can ensure long-term continuous operation and reduce the frequency of mid-journey refueling.



2.Drive & Control System
Drive System: Utilizes a bidirectional hydraulic chain drive method, featuring efficient and smooth transmission, low power transmission loss, and adjustable driving speed ranging from 0 to 4 km/h. This allows for precise control of the operation progress and is suitable for different compaction density requirements.
Steep slope capability: Has a theoretical climbing ability of 30%. Even on gentle slopes, it maintains stable operation and compaction effect.
Brake System: Responds sensitively, combined with reliable hydraulic control, ensuring precise start and stop during operation and enhancing operational safety.
Vibration System: Features a front and rear dual vibration wheel design, with a vibration frequency of up to 70Hz, an amplitude of 0.6mm, and an excitation force of up to 30kN. This enables effective deep compaction of soil, sand, asphalt, etc., ensuring the compaction degree of the operation surface meets the standards.
Spraying System: Utilizes a gravity spraying form, paired with a 22L large-capacity water tank, which can evenly spray water mist, preventing the materials from adhering to the vibration wheels, and reducing operational dust, optimizing the construction environment.



3.Size
Operating weight: 580kg. Static linear load: 45N/cm. Excellent compaction efficiency. Can operate in narrow areas without damaging the foundation ground.
Size: Total width only 780mm; total length (when the handrails are placed flat) 2500mm, total height (when the handrails are upright) 1820mm. Convenient for operation in low-height environments.
Packaging size: 1320*840*1050mm. Compact in size, facilitating road transportation and on-site storage, significantly reducing transportation and storage costs.
Roller size: Equipped with 600mm width and 426mm diameter vibrating wheels, capable of precisely adapting to narrow operation scenarios.



4.Application
SVH60M features flexible maneuverability and strong compaction performance, and is widely used in various small-scale engineering scenarios:
· In municipal engineering, it can be used for paving of sidewalks, construction of residential roads, backfilling and compaction of underground pipeline trenches, and patching of road potholes;
· In road engineering, it is suitable for compaction of the base layer and surface layer of rural roads and scenic footpaths, and can also assist in large-scale road construction to complete compaction of blind areas such as shoulders and corners;
· In garden infrastructure, it is applicable for soil compaction of courtyard roads and green planting areas to prevent ground subsidence later;
· For thin-layer asphalt paving of factory floors and parking lots, as well as backfilling compaction of small building foundation pits, etc.

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
·  Before hoisting, jacking up the equipment or performing maintenance work, be sure to fasten the articulated steering connection in place with a locking rod.
