What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

1.Power system
The STS06 road roller offers a dual-engine configuration option, both featuring inline water-cooled four-stroke diesel engines with 4 cylinders. These engines provide powerful and stable power output, meeting various working conditions and emission requirements.
The Changchai 4G33TC-93G412E engine can output up to 68kW of power and complies with the non-road Euro IV emission standards, offering even better environmental performance. 
The Yanmar 4TNV98T engine has an output power of 54.1 kW for the Yanmar model. It complies with the non-road Euro III emission standards and is suitable for construction scenarios with relatively lenient emission requirements. 
The electrical system of the equipment is divided into two specifications: 24V (for diesel engines) and 12V (for Yanmar engines). The power supply is stable, ensuring the normal operation of all electrical components of the machine.
The fuel tank capacity is 95L, the lubricating oil capacity is 12L, and the hydraulic oil capacity is 115L. This can meet the needs for long-term continuous operation, reducing the frequency of mid-job refueling and improving construction efficiency.

2.Drive & Control System
In terms of the drive system, the equipment adopts a variable plunger pump stepless speed control system, combined with the rear-wheel drive mode. The speed adjustment range is wide and smooth, and the driving speed can be flexibly adjusted between 0 and 9 km/h, suitable for different compaction rhythms. 
The steering system adopts a dual-cylinder hydraulic steering mechanism. It is easy to operate and highly flexible, with excellent steering accuracy. Combined with a turning radius of 4590mm, it can easily adjust the posture even when working in a confined area. 
The vibration system is equipped with a hydraulic-powered vibration device. The front wheels are vibration steel wheels. The vibration frequency is 45Hz, the vibration amplitude is 0.5mm, and the excitation force can reach 85kN. It is paired with a 20mm thick steel drum and a 1550mm drum width. The compaction depth is sufficient and the effect is uniform. It can effectively improve the compactness of the road surface and the site. 
The theoretical climbing capacity of the equipment is 30%, the swing angle is 8°, and it can operate in complex terrains with significant slopes. It has strong stability. 



The equipment is equipped with 2 rubber tires of 16/70-20 specification. The tire size is 1075mm. It adopts a bilateral support method, with excellent load-bearing performance. During operation, it has good shock absorption effect and protects the working surface from damage.



3.Size
Working dimensions: The working width of the equipment is 1760mm, the overall length is 4550mm, the overall height is 2725mm, the wheelbase is 2416mm. While ensuring the coverage area for operations, it is also convenient for transportation and site transfer. 
Roller size: Diameter of the roller is 1150mm, width is 1550mm. The steel roller is 20mm thick, durable and long-lasting.
Customizable equipment: An optional cab can be installed, with dimensions of 1450*1450*1700mm. It is equipped with air conditioning, fans, radio, USB interface and wipers, etc., providing practical functions such as comfort for the operators during their work and alleviating fatigue caused by long-term operation. 
Weight: The operating weight of the equipment is 5800 kg, the static line load is 165 N/cm, and the weight is evenly distributed, further enhancing the compaction effect.



4.Application
The front wheels of the STS06 road roller are equipped with steel rims, which are responsible for efficient compaction and tamping operations. The rear wheels are equipped with dual rubber tires, which ensure the stability of the vehicle's movement and its adaptability to different terrains. Together, they work in harmony to meet the precise compaction requirements for various scenarios. It is widely used in:

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
·  Before hoisting, jacking up the equipment or performing maintenance work, be sure to fasten the articulated steering connection in place with a locking rod.
