What is a double drum road roller?
The double-steel-wheel roller has two rollers at the front and rear. Some models support synchronous vibration of the two rollers, which results in better compaction efficiency and uniformity. It is the core equipment for compacting asphalt pavement. The vibration mode is flexible and can be switched according to the types of materials such as soil, sand and gravel, and is suitable for each stage of initial compaction, re-compaction and final compaction.

What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

The ST5000 road roller is an engineering equipment specifically designed for efficient compaction operations. With stable power performance, flexible control system, reasonable size ratio and wide adaptability scenarios, it has become the preferred equipment in the fields of highways, municipal works, construction and other engineering projects.



1.Power system
The ST5000 road roller is equipped with three well-known brand diesel engines, all of which adopt a straight-line, water-cooled, four-stroke structure. The 4-cylinder configuration ensures strong and stable power output, suitable for long-term and high-intensity operations.
Changchai ZN490B: Output power reaches 36kw, rotational speed is 2400rpm, fuel consumption rate is only 255g/kwh, balancing power and fuel economy
Yanmar 4TNV88: Rotational speed is increased to 3000rpm, output power is 34.5kw, with strong burst force, suitable for scenarios with high requirements for operation efficiency
Kubota V2403: Output power is 33.6kw, lubricating oil capacity is 9.5L, with excellent cooling and lubrication performance, significantly extending the equipment's service life
The vibration system is driven by a hydraulic motor, supporting separate vibration of the front and rear wheels as well as simultaneous vibration of the front and rear wheels. The vibration frequency is 50Hz, amplitude is 0.5mm, single-wheel excitation force is 60kn, and the combined excitation force of two wheels can reach 120kn. It can efficiently complete various ground compaction operations.

2.Drive & Control System
The equipment adopts a 12V electrical system and the driving mode is a variable plunger pump with stepless speed regulation + dual-wheel drive motors connected in parallel, achieving stepless speed adjustment from 0 to 15 km/h. The operation is precise and convenient, and the traveling speed can be flexibly adjusted according to the construction requirements.
The steering system uses hydraulic cylinder articulated steering, combined with a swing articulated design. The swing angle is 8°, and the steering angle is 30°. The steering is flexible and has excellent stability. The minimum outside turning radius is only 4380mm, which can easily handle complex terrains such as narrow areas and curves.
The theoretical climbing ability can reach 35%-40%. Even when operating on roads with large slopes or ramps, it can maintain stable driving and compaction effect.
It is equipped with a pressure intermittent water spraying system, which effectively prevents the materials from adhering to the steel wheels, ensuring the continuity of the operation.



The hydraulic oil tank capacity is 60L, the steel wheel lubricating oil capacity is 9.8L × 2, the fuel tank is 44.5L, and the water tank is 180L. The large-capacity liquid storage design reduces the frequency of mid-way replenishment, significantly improving the construction efficiency.



3.Size
Weight: Operating weight 4230kg, static line load 155n/cm. The weight distribution is reasonable, ensuring full contact with the ground during compaction and enhancing the compaction effect.
Size: Working width 1580mm, equipment wheelbase 1950mm, rim height 685mm, ground clearance 445mm. To avoid bottom components from being knocked; overall length offers two specifications of 2920mm/2850mm, corresponding to overall heights of 2025mm/2680mm. It can be flexibly selected according to the construction site and transportation requirements.
Roller size: Steel wheels adopt an integrated smooth wheel design, width 1400mm, diameter 900mm, wheel cover thickness 20mm, with high strength and good wear resistance. The left and right wheels have a misalignment of 50mm, further optimizing the uniformity of compaction.

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
·  Before hoisting, jacking up the equipment or performing maintenance work, be sure to fasten the articulated steering connection in place with a locking rod.
