What is a double drum road roller?
The double-steel-wheel roller has two rollers at the front and rear. Some models support synchronous vibration of the two rollers, which results in better compaction efficiency and uniformity. It is the core equipment for compacting asphalt pavement. The vibration mode is flexible and can be switched according to the types of materials such as soil, sand and gravel, and is suitable for each stage of initial compaction, re-compaction and final compaction.

What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

The ST1800 compacting machine, with its precise design, powerful core performance and flexible operation experience, has become an ideal compaction equipment for municipal engineering, road construction, site leveling and other scenarios.



1.Power system
1.Equipped with the YANMAR 3TNM72-AFF engine, it is a 3-cylinder 4-stroke water-cooled diesel model with a rated output power of 18.5kW and a rated speed of 3600rpm. It has strong and stable power, suitable for long-term continuous operation.
2.It is equipped with a 12V electrical system to ensure smooth equipment startup and stable power supply.
3.It adopts a front-mounted vibrating drum driven by a hydraulic motor.The vibration frequency is 65Hz, the amplitude is 0.5mm, and the excitation force reaches 30kN. It can effectively improve the compactness of the foundation and prevent later settlement. 
4.Equipped with intermittent pressure spray irrigation system, it reduces material adhesion, ensuring the continuity of compaction and the quality of the operation.

2.Drive & Control System



The variable plunger pump is connected in parallel with two wheels to drive the motor in a stepless speed control mode, achieving stepless speed adjustment from 0 to 8 km/h, which is suitable for different construction rhythms. The start and braking are smooth, avoiding material displacement.
The hydraulic cylinder is equipped with a hinge steering and swing hinge structure, providing precise and sensitive steering. The turning radius on the outside is only 2800mm/3850mm, enabling flexible operation in narrow and corner areas.
The working brake is realized by the variable plunger pump, with rapid response and stable performance. Combined with a theoretical climbing ability of 30%/35%, it effectively solves the problem of sliding down during slope operations, improving operational safety.



3.Size
With a compact body design, the operating weight is 1790kg, the static line load is 82N/cm. While providing sufficient compaction pressure, it causes minimal damage to the ground.
The working width is 1050mm, the drum width is 900mm and the diameter is 560mm. The single pass compaction coverage is wide, which helps to improve the operation efficiency. 
The overall length of the machine ranges from 2210mm to 2150mm, and the height can be adjusted to 1790mm or 2465mm. The wheelbase is 1515mm. The structure is compact, making it easy to transport and suitable for operations in small or narrow areas.

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
·  Before hoisting, jacking up the equipment or performing maintenance work, be sure to fasten the articulated steering connection in place with a locking rod.
