What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

The STS10 road roller is an outstanding engineering compaction equipment. With stable power output, precise control performance and reasonable structural design, it is widely applicable to various engineering scenarios, providing a solid guarantee for construction quality and efficiency.



1.Power system
The STS10 road roller is equipped with a well-known brand CUMMINS 4BTA3.9-C100-|| diesel engine. It adopts a straight-in water-cooled four-stroke design, with a 4-cylinder structure layout ensuring stable power output and excellent fuel economy.
The engine's rated output power can reach 74kw, and it can continuously release strong power at a rotational speed of 2200rpm, easily handling various complex compaction operations.
The equipment is equipped with a 24V electrical system, which provides stable and reliable power supply, providing sufficient power support for the vehicle control, vibration system and auxiliary equipment.
The fuel tank capacity is 154L, the lubricating oil capacity is 15L, and the hydraulic oil capacity is 125L. The large-capacity fuel storage design reduces the frequency of refueling and enhances the continuous operation capability, meeting the needs of long-term and high-intensity construction.

2.Drive & Control System
The equipment is driven by a hydraulic motor in the rear axle (rear-wheel drive) mode, with efficient and smooth power transmission. It is equipped with a 0-10 km/h continuous speed adjustment range, allowing for flexible adjustment of the operation speed according to construction requirements.
The steering system adopts a dual-cylinder hydraulic steering design, combined with a 5650mm turning radius. During operation in the working area, it can easily turn around and adjust its posture, enhancing the adaptability of the working site.
The vibration system adopts a front-mounted vibration steel wheel design. It achieves compaction operations through hydraulic cylinder vibration. The vibration frequency can reach 50 Hz, the vibration amplitude is 0.5 mm, and the maximum excitation force is 150 kn. This can effectively enhance the compactness of soil, asphalt and other materials, ensuring the compaction effect.



The equipment has a 30% theoretical climbing ability, an 8° swaying angle, and the stability performance of the dual-cylinder hydraulic steering. It can operate smoothly on sites with a large slope, and is not afraid of challenges in complex terrain.



3.Size
Weight: The operating weight of the equipment is 9600kg. The static line load is 225n/cm, and the compaction performance is strong.
Machine size: The working width reaches 2020mm, the overall length of the equipment is 5065mm, the overall height is 2720mm, the wheelbase is 2690mm, the structure layout is reasonable, and the driving stability is strong.
Roller size: Equipped with a steel roller 1800mm wide and 1250mm in diameter, the roller thickness is 23mm. The high-strength steel structure is wear-resistant and durable, effectively increasing the compaction coverage area and operation efficiency.
Tire size: The tires are made of rubber material of 14.9-24 specification, with a total of 2 tires. The double-side support design further enhances the stability of the equipment during operation. The tire size is 1260mm, suitable for different road conditions. 
Optional equipment: An optional cab with dimensions of 1450*1450*1700mm can be installed. It is equipped with features such as air conditioning, fans, radio, USB interface and windshield wipers, providing a comfortable working environment for the operators and alleviating fatigue caused by long-term work.



4.Application
The front wheels of the STS10 road roller are equipped with steel rims, which are responsible for efficient compaction and tamping operations. The rear wheels are equipped with dual rubber tires to ensure the stability of the vehicle's movement and adaptability to the terrain. The two wheels work together to meet the precise compaction requirements for various scenarios. It is widely used in:

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
·  Before hoisting, jacking up the equipment or performing maintenance work, be sure to fasten the articulated steering connection in place with a locking rod.
