What is a walk behind road roller?
The hand-held road roller is a small, portable compaction machinery that is operated by the operator manually. It has a compact structure and is flexible to operate, suitable for narrow sites and small-scale compaction tasks. It comes in single/double wheel, static/vibrating, fuel/electric models. It is mainly used for municipal repairs, trench backfilling, rural roads/footpaths, and soil, sand, asphalt and other materials compaction at the corners of large roads.

What is the function of a road roller?
The core function of a road roller is to compact road-building materials such as soil, sand, gravel and asphalt mixture through its own weight or vibratory impact force. This improves the compactness, flatness and stability of the compacted materials, reduces their porosity, enhances load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity, and ensures the construction quality and service life of roads, foundations, dykes and other engineering projects.

1.Power system
The equipment is equipped with high-quality engines from multiple brands, which are suitable for various operation requirements and scenarios. The power output is stable and efficient:
An optional Honda GX160 gasoline four-stroke engine can be selected, with an output power of 4.1kw, a rotational speed of 3600rpm, and a fuel tank capacity of 3.6L. It is convenient to start, has low fuel consumption, and is suitable for outdoor operations with certain noise control requirements.
The SVH30C can be equipped with a Changchia/Changfa CF170 diesel four-stroke engine (3.1kw) with a fuel tank capacity of 1.9L.
The SVH30C can also be equipped with a Kama 173F air-cooled four-stroke engine (3.7kw), with a fuel tank capacity of 2.5L. The diesel model has stronger endurance and the air-cooling design is suitable for complex outdoor environments, and is not afraid of high-temperature operations. 
The lubricating oil capacity is 0.6 - 0.75 liters, and the hydraulic oil tank capacity is 12 - 15 liters. This meets the requirements for long-term continuous operation and does not require frequent replenishment.
The water tank capacity is 22 liters, which can effectively prevent the compaction wheels from sticking to asphalt and other materials, thereby improving the compaction effect.

2.Drive & Control System
It adopts a two-way hydraulic chain drive method, ensuring smooth transmission and low power loss. It can achieve stepless speed adjustment ranging from 0 to 3.8 km/h, precisely adapting to different compaction rhythms.
The theoretical climbing ability reaches 30%. Even when operating on slopes or ramps, it can maintain stable driving. The handrail can be flexibly adjusted to an angle (when placed flat, the total length of the machine is 1600mm; when raised, the height is 1060mm). The operator can complete the operation by standing and pushing. It is not prone to fatigue after long-term operation.



The vibration system is designed for a single wheel and operates at a vibration frequency of 70 Hz, with an amplitude of 0.6 mm and an excitation force of up to 20 kN. Combined with a static linear load of 45 N/cm, the compaction efficiency is significantly higher than that of ordinary static pressure equipment. It can achieve efficient compaction for both soil, sandstone foundation layers, and thin layers of asphalt.



3.Size
The total operating weight of the machine is 340kg, with a net weight of 310.5kg. It is compact in size and easy to transport. A single person can carry it up and down the transport vehicle. The packaging size is 1050*850*1200mm, and it does not occupy too much space during storage.
The width of the compaction wheels is 600mm and the diameter is 426mm. The compaction coverage is moderate. The overall width of the machine is only 780mm, which enables it to easily enter narrow areas such as trenches, sidewalks, and corners of roads that large equipment cannot reach.



4.Application
SVH30 features flexible maneuverability and strong compaction performance, and is widely used in various small-scale engineering scenarios:
· In municipal engineering, it can be used for paving of sidewalks, construction of residential roads, backfilling and compaction of underground pipeline trenches, and patching of road potholes;
· In road engineering, it is suitable for compaction of the base layer and surface layer of rural roads and scenic footpaths, and can also assist in large-scale road construction to complete compaction of blind areas such as shoulders and corners;
· In garden infrastructure, it is applicable for soil compaction of courtyard roads and green planting areas to prevent ground subsidence later;
· For thin-layer asphalt paving of factory floors and parking lots, as well as backfilling compaction of small building foundation pits, etc.

·  During the operation of the equipment, do not perform cleaning or maintenance work. Rotating parts may cause personal injury.
·  It is strictly prohibited to clean parts with gasoline, other fuels or flammable solvents, especially in enclosed areas; the fumes volatilized from fuels and solvents are prone to accumulation, which may cause explosions.
·  Regularly check the external buttons of the equipment to ensure their normal functions.
·  Provide professional operation and safety training to equipment operators on a regular basis.
·  Do not operate the equipment in areas with flammable substances, fuel or flammable vapors.
·  After the equipment is out of service, turn off the engine immediately, store it in a clean, dry area out of the reach of children, and ensure standardized storage.
·  Do not remove the air filter cover, paper filter element and pre-cleaner while the engine is running.
·  Before hoisting, jacking up the equipment or performing maintenance work, be sure to fasten the articulated steering connection in place with a locking rod.
